Lila

Our daughter, Lila Ariela Seraphina Sattler, was born in San Francisco at 1710 on Monday 13 August 2001.

Vital statistics: black hair, brown eyes, 1310 grams (6 pounds, 13 ounces), 47.5 centimeters (19 inches). Good eater, good sleeper (but only on Mama, for the moment).

She has three names, just like her brother. What does it mean? Lila (Hebrew: night), Ariela (Hebrew: lioness), Seraphina (Hebrew: burning fire). The last name is our newly traditional holiday name; Isaac was born on Chanukah, Lila was born during my customary annual Burning Man pilgrimage.

We're back at home, after a mere six hours at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, San Francisco. Mother and baby are doing very, very well.

Big brother Isaac is thrilled to have is baby sister (sometimes pronounced as a "big bowkey sifter") at home. The only time gets upset is when he can't hold her frequently enough. At left you see the whole ohana (Hawai'ian: family). At right you see Isaac seranading the new addition on his half-guitar. I think he was doing a lullaby.

Have you found errors nontrivial or marginal, factual, analytical and illogical, arithmetical, temporal, or even typographical? Please let me know; drop me email. Thanks!
