Rose

My darling wife, Rose, in a self-portrait taken on Friday 20 February 2001. Behind her you can see our children, Isaac and Lila.

The photo was taken in our newly-acquired convertible, as we were driving from our cottage to visit Dziadziu over in Alameda.

Rose is a reluctant co-star in this web site, but she's gracefully reluctant when she sees me writing up some daily adventure. Thank you, my love, for indulging me.

Much of what you see on these pages involves Rose, and many of the best photos of our family are taken by her. She makes our shared adventure a lot more fun. A world traveller, a gourmet, a great mother, and an amazing wife. I'm a lucky guy.

I met Rose on 1 February 1997 in a sushiya in San Francisco. It was yet another weekly dinner with an ex-coworker. He wanted to bring his wife, whom I had never met, and she wanted to bring her friend, who her husband had never met. That friend was Rose. We met weekly for several months, then started dating and courting, and got married just less than two years later.

Almost exactly a year later our son Isaac was born; two-and-three-quarter years later came Lila. Our ohana. You can see our daily adventures as well as our travel adventures. Come along!
